Dispositions Group Process & Findings

The primary objective of the Dispositions Working Group in Stage 1 was to establish the target dispositions for developing / supporting within our DVM students.

This began with review of data from feedback sessions, roundtables, interviews, and surveys, as well as the literature on professional DVM attitudes and dispositions.

The resulting list of traits then needed to be sorted usable conceptual domains with individual individual dispositions as sub-components.  This was a lengthy process of negotiation.

The final recommendation of the Disposition Working Group was that the CVM employ a system for intentionally developing professional dispositions within DVM students according to three critical domains:

Self Regulation

Professional Values

Interpersonal Awareness

Read more about these domains and their sub-components in the Stage 2: Review section.
