Introduction

The AVMA Council on Education to requires a review of the CVM curriculum no less than every 7 years to maintain our accreditation.  We are due to complete this task.

More than simply a required exercise, this review is an opportunity for the College, in consultation with internal and external stakeholder groups and inclusive of larger trends in veterinary practice and educational standards, to define the goals, outcomes, and characteristics of the DVM training program that will inform further curricular renewal.  We will create, in essence, a Curriculum Strategic Plan.

The professional DVM environment is ever-evolving, as are the instructional strategies and technologies available to us.  Continued growth and success as a top tier institution requires careful consideration, forethought, and adaptability.  A well-made Curriculum Strategic Plan guides our course through Review and Revision of the curriculum over a multi-year process that incorporates the voices of hundreds of stakeholders.
